How we pick every gift

Great Gifts for Dog Lovers is a small editorial project, not an auto-generated product feed. Here's the bar a gift has to clear before it shows up on a breed's guide.

   Hand-picked, one breed at a time

   Someone sits down with a breed, works through what's actually listed for it on Amazon, and shortlists by hand. No automated product feed.

   Breed relevance, not dog-shaped filler

   The breed has to be genuinely part of the gift — the artwork, the wording, the shape. Generic dog merch only makes a list when nothing better fits, and we say so on the card.

   Exact products, exact links

   Every card points at the specific listing we looked at, not a search page. If a listing disappears we pull it on the next review.

   Ordered by giftability

   Number one is the one we'd hand over first: something the recipient keeps or uses, not the item paying the most. Nothing here is a paid placement.

   We don't quote prices

   Amazon prices and stock move constantly, so cards send you to the listing for the current price instead of showing a number that's already out of date.

   Illustrated, not scraped

   Card images are our own illustrations of the product type. They're labelled as illustrations — the listing photo is on Amazon.

   Re-checked on a schedule

   Guides carry a last-reviewed date. Reviewing means re-opening every link and confirming the product is still there and still relevant.
