Editorial policy
These are the rules we hold ourselves to. If we ever break one, the guide is wrong, not the policy.
No paid placements, ever
Brands cannot buy a spot, a rank or a badge. We do not accept payment for inclusion, and nobody sees a guide before it publishes. Affiliate commissions are earned after the fact and are identical regardless of which item you buy.
Ranking is editorial
The order reflects how well an item suits that specific breed's owner — how close the likeness is, how well it holds up for that coat or energy level, and how gift-ready it arrives. Commission rate is never an input.
We don't publish prices we can't stand behind
Amazon prices move daily, so guides send you to the listing for the current price rather than printing a number that would be wrong by the time you read it. Always confirm price, availability and delivery estimate on Amazon before buying.
Product artwork is our own illustration
We don't republish sellers' product photography. The images on our guides are illustrations we create to show the type of item, and they're labelled 'Illustration' on the card. The listing itself is always one click away.
We re-check guides in season
During November and December we re-check published breed pages for stock and price drift, and swap out anything that has gone out of stock or dropped in quality. Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed.
Corrections welcome
If a pick is wrong, discontinued, or the breed likeness is off, email us. Corrections are made to the guide itself rather than buried in a footnote.
